Artist
CHRISTIAN ART BY SUE KERSHAW
Reflecting on my childhood I realise how much an influence my time spent in church looking at the drawings of Annie Vallotton in the Good News Bible (1976) had on me.
Some forty years later, and a career as a professional mosaic artist, I have an unending fascination with creating simple line drawings capturing my understanding of the bible’s teachings and God’s love.
A good number of the images featured are also influenced by my reading of Julian of Norwich ‘Revelations of Divine Love’ kindly given by a friend.
I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with congregations, communities, health-related groups and primary schools to create Christian mosaics for a variety of settings.
My studio and home is in the historic village of Sheriff Hutton within the Howardian Hills an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB), Ryedale, North Yorkshire though my artwork has taken me nationwide across the UK.
I hope that my drawings may be used to worship God and that some may indeed become mosaics.
